Cambridge Corn Exchange had its grand opening in 1875 and since that time has played host to a wide variety of musical, dance and theatrical performances. To help maintain high standards of cleaning and hygiene at this historic venue a Duplex 340 floor cleaning machine was purchased in 1999 and after giving sterling service for 22 years it has finally been retired to be replaced by a new Duplex 340 Steam. After a successful installation at the Cambridge music venue our picture features a duet between the new and the old showing just how little the classic design of the Duplex has changed over the years. Apart from a few tweaks here and there the major change has been the addition of steam back in the early 2000s making it then and to this day unique in its field as the only cylindrical brush machine with steam which not only cleans but sanitises with the power of steam.
