Our picture shows Duplex’s central area BDM, Neil Anthony at the recent Weedon Weekender 2024 which is a community fund raising event held over two days plus a Friday night northern soul disco.
An annual event, this year it featured twenty four bands, two stages , amusements, stalls and for those so inclined, a quiet meditation area.
Many local organisations have benefitted over the years from funds raised including tents for the Scouts, art-boards for art groups and changing facilities for the local football team. In fact, any local group in need of support can apply.
When he is not selling Duplex machines and looking after our customers in the central region, Neil plays a significant part in organising the event and making it the success it is in raising money for deserving causes and providing a fun-filled weekend for his village.
The highly popular dog show, which forms part of the event, was run this year by local dog training business, Doghampton. There were six well supported classes and finally the prestigious Best in Show award which was won by Pepper, a cute Cavapoo. Well done to Pepper and all entrants because, as every dog lover knows, they’re all winners!
